Question:
So I’m only on the sixth book right now but something Syndil said really bothered me. Of course I already knew they were lifemates. It’s obvious. And to check, I looked on google. How could they not know, having grew up together? And some things don’t make sense. Like how Barack would be seeing colors and emotions again? It makes sense now how syndil felt attraction before, like desari said in book five. But seriously none of the normal rules apply for them. How could Barack be lifemates with syndil if he was a playboy? Does anyone else think it’s DISGUSTING for them to be lifemates because Syndil was around to watch Barack be a playboy? Another thing, I know syndil felt attraction before but was she out having sex too? That’s just sick to me. If they were lifemates they would have noticed. Like how when Barack was trying to protect her in book five but was more beast and said something about her not being family or something, which hurt her feelings badly. Just how deep they cut, would make you know.
Like it makes me want to vomit when I think of them together because syndil was around watching Barack be the hugest playboy for however long. Especially with all the centuries wasted when they could have been together.

Because they escaped when they were so young (I think Darius was the oldest at around 6ish and Desari the youngest at around 8 months old) they don’t know anything about when the males get older and how they loose emotion and that they need to find their lifemates etc. Darius actually says (in his book I think ‘Dark Fire’) that he just thought they (the males) would loose their emotions forever and slowely turn into vampires and that he would have to kill all his male family members and himself eventually to save everyone.
I didn’t think it was disgusting when I read it because I read it out of order and read Syndil and Baracks story first out of the Dark Troubadours books. And something is revealed in it, which makes everything understood and not so weird =)
