August 26, 2011 Does anyone know of any good paranormal romance books/series BESIDES Twilight?
Question:
I love the genre of paranormal romance, so i’m constantly looking for new a series to read.
I’m looking for something BESIDES Twilight. Sorry people, but I just didn’t think that saga was that great. It was way to slow, almost NO action until you get to the very end of the book, and a poorly told storyline.
I like the idea behind Twilight (a regular girl and a supernatural guy falling in love), but I need something more for grown-ups. Like the Midnight Breed series and the Black Daggar Brotherhood series. Something with action, sex, and suspense.

Vampire Kisses isn’t really more ‘Grown Up’ but there is a lot more action ans suspense in it. There’s not really any sex, except in the begining the main character leads this drunk guy out to the woods, and they take their clothes off, but they don’t do anything. She steals his clothes and runs. haha.
but it’s much better than twilight, plus it doesn’t take 100 pages to describe how hott the vampires are. lol.

Oooh honey, try the Vampire Academy series. They are amazing, and I’m sure you will love them like I have. Plenty of action, sex, and suspense; it is more mature than Twilight series. It is way better than Twilight. The main guy in Vampire Academy is Dimitri, you will fall head over heels for him. And the main character is Rose…she is a badass. I love her character, unlike that annoying Bella. I would tell Bella to go find a corner and drink a juice box. Rose has it all, the attitude, body, and she kicks booty. I’m sure you will love them.
#1 Vampire Academy #2 Frostbite #3 Shadow Kiss #4 will come out in August 2009

Jeb, a sympathetic scientist, helped them escape and, since then, they’ve been living on their own. The Erasers have orders to kill them so the world will never find out they exist. Max’s old childhood friend, Ari, now an Eraser leader, tracks them down, kidnaps Angel, and transports her back to the School to live like a lab rat again. The youngsters are forced to use their special talents to rescue her as they attempt to learn about their pasts and their destinies.
Marked ( Book 1) House of Night series by P.C. Cast & Kristin Cast
In 16-year-old Zoey Redbird’s world, vampyres not only exist but are also tolerated by humans. Those whom the creatures “mark” as special enter the House of Night school where they will either become vampyres themselves, or, if their body rejects the change, die. To Zoey, being marked is truly a blessing, though she’s scared at first. She has never fit into the human world and has always felt she is destined for something else. Her grandmother, a descendant of the Cherokee, has always supported her emotionally, and it is she who takes the girl to her new school. But even there the teen stands apart from the others. Her mark from the Goddess Nyx is a special one, showing that her powers are very strong for one so young. At the House of Night, Zoey finds true friendship, loyalty, and romance as well as mistrust and deception.

Blood & Chocolate by Annette Curtis-
Vivian is a teenage werewolf. When the moon is high, she feels the call to run wild in the woods, to feel the forest floor beneath her paws. But, when she moves into a new town, she meets a boy. A human. Her family disapproves but she is head over paws. With growing tension within her pack and her lack of control over her own abilities, she wonders if her boy will love her, or more importantly, if he will survive loving her. Jealously, isolation and competition within her extended family all threaten what tender happiness she tries to build.
The Mediator by Meg Cabot
Susannah Simon is no ordinary girl, she can see and speak to the dead. Not that she’s happy about it; nobody wants ghosts popping into their bedroom every night. But when her mom remarries and Suze is forced to move to California she meets the perfect boy, there’s only one problem, he’s dead.
Evermore (a lot like Twilight) Really Good
