August 16, 2011 Looking for a paranormal romance novel…?
Question:
Hello=]
I need some suggestions on what books to read next. Preferably part of a series, and a paranormal romance novel, but if there’s a book outside of this descriptions that’s really good, please do suggest it. It can be YA or Adult, as long as it is nothing like Pride and Prejudice or Wuthering Heights, or anything like that.
Thanks, 10 points for the best answer….
These are some of the books I’ve read:
Twilight
New Moon
Eclipse
Breaking Dawn
Evermore
Blue Moon
Shadowland
Shiver
Moonlight
Full Moon
Dark of the Moon
Blue Bloods

read the time traveler’s wife – it’s not a vampire book or anything but it’s my all time favorite book
it’s an amazing love story but it’s also filled with sex drugs and everything, plus there’s time traveling in it! that’s paranormal!

I recommend ‘A Great and Terrible Beauty,’ by Libba Bray. It’s about a girl in the 1800′s (I think), who goes away to boarding school, and discovers some intense secrets about herself. There’s also some romance b/w a hot Indian/Gypsy boy…
It’s the first book in the trilogy. The other two are ‘Rebel Angels’ and ‘That Sweet Far Thing’.

You might enjoy some of these
- The Hunger Games by Suzanne Collins. It’s about a reality TV show where two people from each state, called ‘tributes,’ must go on this TV show and are made to kill the each other until one survivor is left. They are not allowed to bring anything with them, and must make weapons by themselves out of the tress, rocks etc. They must learn to hide from others, camouflage themselves, hunt wild animals for food and kill the other people. The problem is, a main character, Peeter, is in love with one of the other girls who has been picked for the hunger games, and he does not want to kill her – he is madly in love with her, but she doesn’t know it. It’s an extremely gripping novel, and you see how people turn on each other for survival, and how they hide (they even climb trees and sleep in the branches to be away from other enemies). Here’s the blurb on the back of the book if you want to know more:
In a dark vision of the near future, a terrifying reality tv show is taking place. Twelve boys and twelve girls are forced to appear in a live event called the Hunger Games. There is only one rule: kill or be killed. When sixteen-year-old Katniss Everdeen steps forward to take her sister’s place in the games, she sees it as a death sentence. But Katniss has been close to death before. For her, survival is second nature.
- Vampire Academy by Richelle Mead. This book is about this girl called Rose who is training to look after the Moroi – the good vampires – and protect them from harm against the Strigoi – the bad ones. However, at school, she falls in love with her instructor who is only seven years older than her, is extremely good at killing and is referred to as a ‘badass’ and a ‘god,’ since he has extremely good looks – he is Russian and has “a gorgeous Russian accent.” He falls in love with her too, but it is complicated – because both of them will soon be made to protect Lissa – a Moroi, and to do that, if danger occurs, they need to jump in front of a bullet for her – not each other (which is what would happen if they pursue their love). An extremely good romance with lots of action!
- Generation Dead by Daniel Waters. In this book, All over the country, a strange phenomenon is happening. Some teenagers who die aren’t staying dead. They are coming back to life, but they are no longer the same-they stutter, and their reactions to everything are slower. Termed “living impaired” or “differently biotic,” they are doing their best to fit into a society that doesn’t want them.
Fitting in is hard enough when you don’t have the look or attitude, but when almost everyone else is alive and you’re not, it’s close to impossible. The kids at Oakvale High don’t want to take classes or eat in the cafeteria next to someone who isn’t breathing. And there are no laws that exist to protect the differently biotic from the people who want them to disappear-for good.
With her pale skin and Goth wardrobe, Phoebe has never run with the popular crowd. But no one can believe it when she falls for Tommy Williams, the leader of the dead kids. Not her best friend, Margi, whose fear of the differently biotic is deeply rooted in guilt over the past. And especially not her neighbor, Adam, the star of the football team. Adam has just realized his feelings for Phoebe run much deeper than just friendship. He would do anything for her, but what if protecting Tommy is the one thing that would make her happy?
This is a really interesting book since you see how people are prejudice and discriminate against the dead kids, and there’s a really cute romance between Phoebe and Tommy. Tommy is amazing – he is strong willed (he never gives up trying to show people that they should be accepted, no matter the consequences for him), protective (he comes to Phoebe’s rescue a number of times), polite and sweet. You will absolutely love this book!
Hope I helped!
