The Best Paranormal Romance

Question:
Before I even ask this question, let me just say that I enjoyed the Twilight saga. They were all good books to read and the movies are enjoyable to watch. So please Twilight fans don’t get angry, lol.

Having said that, I would really like to know why it is, that everytime a new teen or love story comes out it is compared to Twilight? The sun does not rise and set with Twilight. It was not the first young adult romance nor will it be the last.

Just because there are two teens who fall in love and there is a paranormal twist to the story, Does not mean it is copying Twilight, similar to Twilight or anything of the such.

Twilight is similar to many other teen books before it, but nobody compares Twilight to anything. WTF?

Question:
Okay so I’m wanting to write a novel in my spare time and came up with this idea last night.

It will be written in first person.

The main character is a girl called Quinn who since her mother died has been moved from foster family to foster family. She moves in with a family who have two boys, Alex and Sebastian. Blah blah bah, the family turns out to be vampires. Quinn falls for Sebastian but he is distant and does not seem to reciprocate Quinn’s feelings. Turns out that Quinn is the reincarnation of Sebastian’s past loves who he spends a certain amount of time with before he loses control and drinks their blood. Sebastian is in love with Quinn but is determined not to kill her, so he does not get involved and moves out of the home Quinn is devastated and Alex is there to console her. And that’s about as far as I’ve gotten.

Let me know what you think about it – and yes I know vampire’s aren’t the most original thing to write about at the moment.
Yeah, Twilight I know. Ugh. I’m just brainstorming here but I’m not coming up with anything very original in the romance department. Probably due to lack of experience and creative imagination but that’s no excuse haha.

I have always written stories where there’s something paranormal like superpowers, magical creatures, etc. So, this time I decided to write a story about a high school girl who is just trying to survive until she graduates.
