What do you like to see in a supernatural romance story?
Question:
I’m writing a supernatural love story. I started wondering what do people like to see happen to the characters in the story. For example do they like the lead female have to go up against the lead male’s ex girlfriend for his love. Jealousy over past relationships. Anyway my story is about a werewolf romance and well I just wanted to ask people what kind of conflicts or situations should a supernatural romance story go through.
well ever seen transformers?? that kinda awsome superness like the werewolves phasing really quick to fight and protecting their lover stuff like that!! and also extra abilities and such ;DD
NEVER write a book by committee.
Write the kind of story you want to read. If you do, then you’ll enjoy writing it and your work will show that.
If you take endless polls of what other people want to read then you run the risk of you losing interest during the writing process and your story will show that as well .
as to your example: if you like to read about that kind of conflict, then write about it.
BTW: if you’re writing about werewolves, you’ll need to do some research on real wolves and pack mentality so you can write a convincing story. And yes, a werewolf pack would be the perfect place for two females to fight over a male.
in the wolf pack, the females fight each other for dominance and the right to be the Alpha female. However, the Alpha male decides who is his mate and that is not always the alpha female who fought her way to the top. The alpha pair will not allow the other wolves in the pack to mate and if any of them do then the female in the alpha pair will kill the cubs. In the pack, only the alpha pair are allowed to mate and reproduce. (that won’t work very well for a werewolf pack, but it would help keep the population under control)
No questionably strait vampires (i.e. Edward Cullen)
And make sure there aren’t any holes in your story, Stephanie Meyer made one, its called a period, and apparently Bella only had one in the entire span of the series. You get what I mean?
And don’t have the cheesy half-wolf half-human werewolf kind of thing, they are just too crappy looking. And if one of the people isn’t a werewolf, make the way he/she finds out realistic, not the way they did in Twilight.
werewolf’s! great choice ( better than vamps), I think that you should have him protecting her from other werewolfs, and she dosn’t know and then he stoppes seing her, but she dosent know and after a year he suddenly appears again when she’s going to have a wedding in 2 months and they dissapear misteriossly…. and then a baby ends up at the orphanige.
4 years after that, the young girl finds out that she’s half werewolf. she dosn’t beleve it , and she thinks shes sick. she tells her doctar and they send her 2 a mad house. she ascapes, yousing her werewolf abilitis. and some how, in the end she finds her perants in a darck,damp&misty forest, in the rain, and her mums a werewolf ( but she had her baby whil still human, just like any other normal human baby, the only thing is , shes’s not human!) caus in the brutal fight of good werewolf vs bad werewolf, she got shcrached. and a happy werewolf ending! By…ather. but if you do take my idear, plese tell me the name of the book, becaus I would like 2 get a copy of it. thanks, the lonly Aussie she werewolf
