Would you read a vampire novel without romance?

Question:
I don’t know about you, but I’m freaking sick of vampire romance, it is horribly, horribly, cliched and overdone. Does anyone else feel this way? And if a vampire novel came out that didn’t have romance, would you read it?

  1. Probably not. Almost every story I read has a little romance here and there so I can’t say I would. But I do think Twilight is okay and that the love story kinda sucks because Jacob is way better then Edward.

I agree! It’s disgusting! I don’t see anything attractive or romantic in blood sucking creeps o.o

No, I wouldn’t. Twilight ruined the image of all vampires for me and I’m never going to read anything involving vampires again.

Except for maybe Dracula because it was really good… x]

  3. You know, there were great vampire stories before Twilight, and there will be great ones after Twilight. The original “Dracula” wasn’t a romance. Neither were Anne Rice’s books.

I’ve gotten a lot more picky about my vampire romance series, but there are a few I enjoy. Of course, I also read in the adult romance section, not YA, so I have no idea what’s available there.

  4. I had no idea I was reading a vampire novel when I began reading Twilight. My friend handed it to me, said it was great and all her friends enjoyed it. I didn’t ask what it was about and I didn’t read the cover. By the time I realized what it was I was already dying to know what happened next.

I wouldn’t have cracked it open if I had known and I won’t intentionally (lol) read another vampire novel. The concept of vampires does not appeal to me even though I ended up loving the Twilight series.

  5. it would be interesting, but i don’t think that vampire ‘romance’ is overdone, in history vampires are seen as seducers of young women.

  6. Heck yeah, I love vampires
